FOOD SERVER

Food Servers will welcome patrons with a smile and help them find a seat. They may also provide ordering instructions and answer any questions the guests have about the food or drinks. Once the food is ready, the volunteer food server will deliver them to the guests' tables. They will need to be careful not to spill or drop anything, and they will want to make sure that the food is served hot or cold as appropriate. Once the guests have finished their meals, the volunteer food server will clear their tables. They will need to remove the dirty dishes and silverware, and they may also need to wipe down the tables. In addition to clearing tables, the volunteer food server may also be responsible for bussing tables. This means that they will need to take the dirty dishes and silverware to the back of the house and wash them or put them in the dishwasher. Food Servers may also be asked to help with other tasks, such as setting up the restaurant before it opens or cleaning up after it closes. They may also be asked to help with food prep or other kitchen tasks.

If you love books, this is the event for you! Join us at the HOFF as we meet and read with fellow book lovers. There are no assigned readings or deadlines - you just read what you bring!

Readers of all types are welcome! Audiobook readers, please bring headphones. Tip: If you find outside noise distracting, like people entering the building, bring headphones!

There is time before and after the silent reading hour to converse or extend your reading time. Perhaps you’ll walk away with a suggestion or two for future reading.

DUTIES: 

You'll be the main greeter for the event, welcoming people into the space and giving them direction on where to go. You'll instruct them to remain quiet and respectful of the other readers. For patrons entering to not participate in the Silent Book Club, you'll request that they also remain quiet.

Music in the Park is an annual summer concert series that we put on alongside the Omaha Musicians Guild. Every Wednesday throughout the summer, we take over Bayliss Park and host a variety of musicians. 

Should you sign up for this opportunity, you will be expected to come by the Hoff Center, pick up the Music in the Park Kit, and take it down to Bayliss Park. Your job will be to set up the kit, be a general spokesperson for PACE while you're there, then pack everything up and bring it back to the Hoff Center once the night is done.

Bayliss Park is only a 10-minute walk from the Hoff Center, so you are able to do this on foot, but taking a vehicle is recommended. Please use your own discretion when making this decision.

While I am looking for two people to fill these shifts, it is possible that you will be doing this alone, and you will be at the park by yourself for a good while. Please keep this in mind when signing up.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are bringing your own vehicle, you will need space in your vehicle to hold: a collapsible wagon, feather flags (in bags), miscellaneous signs, water, paperwork, and possibly more.
